I spent 11 years in Cisco, took the early out package few years back. Was good payed, learned a lot, took a lot, but cannot resist the feeling it took about 10 years off my life. Gosh, still remember the stress. Think it is the most hectic place to work by far. And everyone who I’m still in contact with who works there is miserable and looking for a way out.

Engineer is just a title just like manager some of these so called engineers and managers are as dumb as door nails. It's easy to spot the lazy workers in the company just visit the gym, nearby Starbucks, or company parties. 9 times out of 10 you will catch them all. Glad I left that lounge I mean company years ago.
Cisco sales = Order taking
For most of them, they just take orders. They could give a F about the customer's need - tell me what you need and you'll get what we have. Sure, Mr. Cisco, please take my money.
This is about to change as the competition ramps up - this is one of our problems, seriously.
The marketing group is fun and organized
I think it depends on your role and group. For example if your in sales you can kick back and relax while collecting 3x the pay of an engineer
