Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

"so have they been all sacked ?" -- Not all. Out of around 35 people, 7-8 are moving to Xenmobile, Santa Clara. They didn't have to interview as they will be doing the same jobs in SC and they were offered lucrative offers. They are awaiting their L1 visa and are expected to be in SC around October. I think the breakdown is 2 managers and 5 developers.

About 15 or soin Hyderabad were sales and escalation engineering professionals and they mostly travel to customer sites. They have all been retained and they will work from home - anyways their primary focus is to travel and meet the customers.

Remaining 10-15 have been given time to seek opportunities in Bangalore office. As someone said, they probably will have to interview for new positions unlike the folks that are moving to Santa Clara.

As if Santa Clara office didn't have enough Indians already lol.

Not about personal Mr. Gentle Man, Thanks for explained full history. No one is offered in BLR. I heard if positions available in any other groups, they have to apply for the positions and need to go thru interviews, etc.

Where did you hear about people being moved to santa clara? In the past I have heard some really bad reviews about the Hyderabad site from xenmobile folks especially about the managers there. So why then are they being brought into santa clara?

Secondly, Hyderabad had ~35 people - developers, QA, sales, and customer escalation engineers. Developers + QA was about 18-20, and remaining were sales and customer escalation engineers.

7 developers are moving to Santa Clara, other developers and QA have been offered positions in Bangalore. It is up to them to move to Bangalore (which is about 320 miles from Hyderabad). I don't count that as "being impacted", although you may. Sales and customer escalation folks have quite a bit of travel, and as such they are being kept employment and will work remotely.

Check your facts before calling out people.

You are assuming some people like careers. You'd be surprised how many people just cling to a paycheck, like remoras on a dying shark.

It might be a milder way to get rid of them, you can't keep going like that for ages - no career whatsoever. I am curious about the salary Citrix would be willing to pay them.

Offered to work remotely? Sh--, that reminds me of the times when Yahoo kept a whole lot of dead weight on remote jobs.

Why the incompetent folks got offer to work from SantaClara office.

None of the folks are going be impacted due to this shut down. A majority of them have been offered to move to yet another useless Citrix location - Bangalore, some have been offered remote work options, and the remaining have been asked to relocate to Santa Clara. Inflow of engineers (if you can call them that) from India to Santa Clara continues.

Citrix Hyderabad site in India is going be shut down by end of this quarter. About time this was done considering that this was the most useless of Citrix offices full of incompetent people.
