As I recall, the rumor was a part of VA was for sale 7 or so years back but the Democratic governor at the time would not permit the company to split up the State. It was an all or nothing and VZ, so the rumor goes, was not willing to give up the lucrative east side of the the state that is defined by the north/south I-95 corridor. Not sure of the time frame but it was when Mr. Seidenberg was C.E.O. , I believe.
I ran into a tech today who mentioned this. He didn't say it was just VA though and I don't think the state of VA will allow a partial sale. It would be all or nothing if a sale were to happen.
To lukrative profitable, NE corridor as a whole will not be sold. If they can split states, which is unlikely, some unprofitable non-stratigic areas could be seperated off and sold.
I heard that rumor 3 years ago. Old news and we are still a part of Verizon. Even if it were true, it would take two years to finalize the deal. Verizon would use those two years to reduce head count via RIFs.
It should be Disney!
Mickey Mouse managed, poor performing service dead end.
Remember, OP, only you can hear the voices in your head.
No and they have no money to make the purchase. Use common sense.
