Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Biding time

Hours cut so drastically pushes me to take on a part time job elsewhere. Follett (days ) other job evenings and weekends, not easy but must be done. Getting more hours on second time job but at a point in life where evening and weekends are valued. But wait been told things will get better and hours will return .... when and for what 3 weeks rush? Follet values? CEO greed. Most Follett employees I know are extremely hard working but not valued.

Textbook and course materials managers were important and valued. Were. Text books are not a high margin business. It is overhead intensive. It is labor intensive. If you claim nearly 100% share (on your campus), it's worth while. However, that train left the station a long time ago. It may be appropriate to de-emphasize the role of texts in the college store as the level of profit contribution has decreased. That being said, Follet should look long and hard at its reason for existence. Perhaps it's time for this crap whole of a company to close.
