Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Beware - 7/11 is coming

Word is July 11 is going to see a massive number of layoffs in the US, so much that they're going to have split the pool and do another one on July 18. Supposedly there are headcount target reductions in the agreement with CSC and HPE must comply in order to avoid penalties or the agreement being cancelled. All visas from those cheap people working here should be cancelled and send them back to their own country.

If you don't have a Resume ready and an exit strategy plan, make it a priority!!!

Anyone know if folks getting wfr are going to get past commissions? Compay has not paid commissions in last 7 months as my comp is not working.

Costa Rica has also been impacted with layoffs in the past weeks and from the looks, it could get worse. In any case, if you get WFRed you can get some quick cash from it and move on to a more stable job. Not a lot space to grow there anyway.

Turnover in Costa Rica has always been very high....always leaving for higher paying opportunities because of the high cost of living. HP doesn't match when they try to leave. I don't see how they will be able to sustain clients that way.

So? Indian and Costa Rican replacements will eventually start wanting more money. Notice we don't talk too much about outsourcing to China anymore...

The idea that the Indian or Costa Rica replacements are not competent is flawed. They are good people. Yes, there is a language and experience gap. Otherwise they are intelligent, earnest and hard working. That is not the issue. The issue is cutting out the middle class to build bigger golden parachutes and bonuses for the executives. And believe it, they are getting bonuses based on how much they can thin the ranks.

I had seen Indian HP staff with poor writing skills but recently I saw one who didn't speak English and another one was talking for him. Imagine what you are being replaced with and what is next.

All the dead weight is long gone. Everybody I work with is a hard working and conscientious employee. Upper management only cares about the stock price, and getting their next bonus secured. There is no concern for the fellow employee. Meg Whitman and down have no new ideas and no hope of coming up with any. They only know how to lay off worker bees to make the numbers in the current quarter. Furthermore, we and all the other outsourcing companies are failing miserably to deliver reliable IT services. I am eager for the time when companies get wise and start bringing their IT back in house. Meanwhile, we have an American worker bloodbath ahead of us for the next couple weeks. My heart aches for all the families impacted.

Those who are affected by CSC will face layoffs. Announcements begin on Monday, the 27th of June. Another wave will hit July.

Oddly hearing something similar on the csc side...Rifs scheduled this week (again) and another rumored for July. Laying off North American staff and then moving on to Australia and emea...India once again won't be touched.

It would be nice if you post news like this to back it up! Where are you getting your information from? To me this is all rumors until you can back it up with concrete verified data.

Please, please let me be among the WFR lottery winners! Our India "replacements" are useless and only frustrate the client.
