Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

This was all planned. The only question, which will likely go unanswered is why?!

Think about it:

The Unions wouldn't have gone out without knowing they could bring back the 38,000 + dues paying members.

The company couldn't find 19,000 replacement workers who they could pawn off on a landline seller as qualified and the EWA-ers can't last forever.

The company couldn't decertify the union and leave the retirees in a black hole.

Once the strike was in effect neither side can be seen as losers.

The Gag order was made so that a quiet agreement can be struck and although some people may clamor for full disclosure... it will soon be time to:

Argue about the MLB,NBA,OLYMPICS,MLS,ITF,PGA,NFL,NHL,ETC...

Complain about back-to-school

Binge on the new fall TV/Netflix/Hulu lineup

Complain about the election,

Immerse yourself in holidays that have been perverted into reasons to eat & spend too much,

Complain about the President Elect,

Make resolutions you keep for about a week,

Fear and argue about some religious, cultural, tragic or celebrity death event that happens,

Complain about the new President,

Complain about the weather lasting too long and argue about why it is what it is,

See the new movie/show/performance "everybody" is raving about,

Complain about getting back into "Bikini" shape,

FINAL EXAMS....

Complain about kids being out-of-school

And we're back to where we started and will have forgotten all about this because, let's be honest, Americans have such short memories and way too much clutter!

Oh, and for Pete's sake stop with all the thank you's for doing such a good job/hanging 1 more day, PLEASE!!!

I know all the management/personal improvement books say thank yous make a difference, THEY DON'T!

When was the last time you could just write Thank You on a check instead of a dollar amount and pay a bill???!!!!!
