I hear there is a class action law suit going on--age discrimination, etc. I am thinking of not signing the waiver and forfeiting my last payout (only a few thousand after taxes). Any advice? I will be seeing a lawyer to review the waiver, but just wanted to know your opinions.

In my group all of the people who got WFR'd when I did were older, higher paid employees. It was clear to me that ageism was involved. However, I took the money. It was a nice bonus, I had another job lined up and live in a right to work state. It didn't seem worth the effort to join a class action suite. I do firmly believe that those at the top of the heap will get what they deserve eventually.
With no job in hand, I had to sign the waiver. Sadly, I needed the money.

It's rumored if one is eligible for early retirement and don't take it, they are the first to get wfr. Have no idea if these are one off events or large scale, but it makes one wonder. I'll have to read up on what one is supposed to sign. I've heard of it but not dug into it.
