Sad to see GA go ... Although half the time he did not know what he was saying/doing (very little technical skill). ... He spoke so fast I could hardly understand what he was saying. I hope he slows down now and just chills out.

Now, SH aka "Mr Teflon" is what we call a Professional Bullsh!t Artist. The only skill he has is probably selling sand to the Arabs. What a smooth talker ... quite frankly Sperry has only gained by getting rid of that corporate climber.

There's also quite a few engineers in Technology who have been promoted waaaay above there level of incompetence. There's some really good technology projects happening with the right managers leading ... these projects will give Big Blue a run for their money...This is a good time for Sperry to get rid of the fat and get back to its roots ...

Well, i suppose they must have voted their shares against huh? let that be a lesson to 'ya. 3.5 billion dollars. Or maybe somthing in their past that included an inordinate amount of over budget. 3.5 billion dollars. The decision to execute most likely came from above? 3.5 billion dollars. But the targeted selection most likey came from within? Gotta make my bonus dollars. Must stay focused. 3.5 billion dollars.

Not really, they use the good ole buddy system a lot here. We have some very unquailified managers.

Not always, moving up to a mgmt. position usually indicates recognition of success in what you do.
