Unions were a great thing.....50 years ago. Verizon is not a monopoly and the workforce does not resemble what it once did. Private sector unions now only represent 6.7% of workers. Some people don't want to pay dues, some only want to work there for a few years and move on. Unions have hurt themselves with corruption and big salaries. There are a lot of reasons, but unions are almost dead. The truth is they can't really do much of anything to help anymore. The power is gone. Now the CWA and Verizon negotiate like a husband and wife in a messy divorce. How silly is it that they need an arbitrater? It's not a club due, your paying a business which in turn buys politics with your money. Politicians look the other way and CEO's make another 10 Million. What fixes this is WE, THE PEOPLE. Only laws will change things. Our labor law was written in 1935. It's now counterproductive and broken like the union. Having no worker voice and representation is even worse, but the concept need to be flushed and re-invented. And congress needs to hear our voice and stop corporate greed. We have the power, they work for all of us. Everyone stop the hate because that not doing anyone any good. Agree to disagree, have a little respect.

What counterbalance? The CEO Makes over 18 million. Correct me of I'm wrong but your logic is saying because of unions the Corporate guys would be making 36 million?
This post makes no sense. You acknowledge the corporate greed problem but want to take the counterbalance of the union out of the picture?
