Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Now I know what it means to be in a union

We're coming back stronger...and yes were coming back! Before this strike I think alot of us only could think of ourselves. Our local union reps would get frustrated sometimes due to the lack of coming together on certain things...people were being selfish. NOT ANYMORE! We're ONE now. And when we get back your gonna know it!!

I can't qui laughing at this ignorant post. You finally know what it is to be union? I've known for years. Here is what it means to be union; greedy, hairy backed, lazy, fat, ignorant, worthless people who look for every handout they can get and are afraid of putting in a hard days work. They are uneducated, inbred, worthless scum who have no skill or pride in their work. To put it gently, they are the worst part of society and the absolute worst type of employee. Now F outta here with your crap, and go do your little chanting, and blow your little horns like a brainless monkey. Now, you smell like free Government cheese and a$$ sweat. For the love of all things proper, take a freaking bath you nasty rabid animal!

Unions are a racket. No wonder they are in the pocket of the mob. Easy money, and they don't have to answer to anyone. Sure they let you think you are in control with elections, but we all know that you still don't have any say when it all comes down. They will do all they can to keep from paying and will only do so to save face. Yet at the same time the union gets you to risk everything for them with the zeal of religion and a fear of your peers that is so gradeschool-like it is laughable. It's so bad for many that if they had a choice they'd rather do absolutely anything else than cross a picket line as if it were some cardinal sin they fear committing.

It's your union. It's for you. It exists for you. So many forget that important fact. At such point that it no longer serves you well, then you have no obligation to support it. Remember that your role is not to support the union. It is the union's role to support you. The union leaders are there for you. Too bad they act like you are there for them.

If you actually read all of these comments and could comprehend what you read then you would know that we were speaking about union workers....not the people getting RIFd.

Yeah, we are going to be some workforce when we get back- I started just after the '89 strike and couldn't believe how the guys who went through that strike were so angry- right until the day they retired they retired- ole VZ has now passed that anger onto the next gen of workers, fine job
