Why would Lowell cave when strike of 1989 lasted 4 months. Plus, didn't strike of 1968 last 7 months?

You guys are seriously drinking kool-aid if you think that Lowell will cave in & that the union leadership didn't beg Obama administration to step in & "force" them to bargain after they already said no.
Lowell wasn't there in 1989 but he is now because this is his personal Vietnam and Charley can't be found.

In 1989, landlines were critical, now they are discretionary. And, there are multiple pay TV and internet providers to choose from. The public does not really care about the service as long as their iPhone works and the service is economical - that's the difference.
