Please excuse my little knowledge in the way union bargaining and stuff goes. I see the company and union agreed to mediation, what does this mean and where do we go from here?

"Both sides will claim victory, but management employees continue tolive under threat of rifs, union employees get a worse contract and the company whittles them away with EISPs and QAR attrition..."
Sadly, this may very well be the exact result that we get to deal with once we come back...
Sally the Slapper will handle the Pud Puller

What is a QAR?
One thing it means is that neither side can go out and publicly misrepresent what is being said in the meetings. Even if there is no gag order, there is a 3rd party privy to the meetings, standing by to whack them for lying about the negotiations.
Time for the secret counter proposal of Verizon getting everything they want and the union offering a $2,000000 signing bonus
What it means is that Union scum know the Puller is on the way
I love the average union members "no give-backs" approach to negotiation. That's not negotiating then....
This is no rah rah as the anti union folks are fond of responding:
Members don't have to ratify a contract full of concessions and no job security!
Let's commit to keeping what we have no matter what.
I guess the doomsayers will crawl back undet their master nutsack. 20th is end of the world? Day will pass then what?
Lowell will use QAR. CWA loses.
Customers lose.
union leadership and Vz upper management win, everybody else lose.
Yup, Company wins and everyone else loses.
Both sides will claim victory, but management employees continue tolive under threat of rifs, union employees get a worse contract and the company whittles them away with EISPs and QAR attrition...
