Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Halliburton reducing manufacturing to 2 plants. Carrolton and Singapore. All other manufacturing facilities to be wound down in2017

Halliburton has already started to wind down operations in its various manufacturing plants worldwide. No upturn in oil prices will save them. There will be 2 manufacturing plants in Carrolton& Singapore. All others will be wound down until closure in 2017

Doesn't Duncan have a lot of chemical intensive plating that would receive a lot more attention in a major metro area?

Duncan MFG Center is already tooled up to build rolling equipment that WILL be needed in the coming years. Labor cost is reasonable and all the trailers in cold storage will go End of Life before too long just sitting there.

DMC has the infrastructure already in place to retro-fit these items and refurbish already. Permits and ALL!

This statement is true as LONG as an accountant doesn't cook the books to make it look cost effective to move.

My opinion based on reality. (Before you say my head is in the sand read every word.)

I agree with this statement. We're seeing more and more of our work moving out east. Sad but true.

HCT is the only manufacturing that will be left within Halliburton. Watch this space

We should get artificial lift in Carrollton as it would gives us more work. Move it from Odessa/Midland as they have other departments to keep them open anyway. Share the wealth.

This is a complete lack of manufacturing understanding. Carrollton and Sing are both HTC plants and for the most part are large machine shops. Carrollton dose not have the infrastructure or space to do truck assembly. Carrollton also dose not have the required ATF permits for wire line and the city of Carrollton will not play ball when it comes to explosives. And then there is the fact that Carrollton would have to grow in foot print and at this time there is just very little room to do this.

This is just wishful thinking by the poster and has no roots in reality.

You could put artificial lift in Carrollton but the quick turn times nesatates close location to the play.
