Many if not most American companies have been slowly winding up their businesses. They have been cutting their workforce, buying back their stocks, and the CEOs have been extracting equity. Also consistent with this is the refusal to invest, even when flushed with cash. Companies are not taking in or training young workers, since there is no point as they don't expect to be in business much longer.

Whether they can or can't be manipulated isn't the point. Everything revolves around the stock price. Everything.

Stock prices are determined by a combination of market sentiment, growth expectations, and overall market cap for the company. Is there volatility beyond the raw financials? Absolutely. Public sentiment and the belief in the company long term drives the share price.

Looks like the investment community doesn't believe the lawn signs are gonna do any long term damage.

Zombie mic drop. :-)

If you think stock prices can't be manipulated, you are a typical Verizon zombie. If you spent anytime here you should remember when in union workforce received stock options, what a joke.
