Our CWA contract (different company) covers:

Medical - family plan $180 per two week pay period - so stop your bloody whining over $20.

Raises - just recently started getting them again after FIVE years of NO raises and a once a year gift of $100 to make up for it.

We have also gone to using digital time clocks because the blue collar bits of the job were falsifying their time sheets and sleeping on the job - so everyone suffers now.

Our union pres flew to DC when the strike started. Solidarity Bro. (I wonder who paid for that.) Had a nice vacation and has not mentioned a thing to the 2k workers here about the strike.

Meanwhile families are struggling and children and special needs folks are without insurance. Time to suck it up and get back to work.

I have seen the overview of the deal.

Most of it looks good, in today's market.

Health care is no longer free, but you have a good plan, and it is cheap.

The raise is fair. Not great, but will keep up with inflation.

You still get the pension, depending on when you started.

The one issue, is of course the job security, but that is also gone for all of us.

You are not going to win this fight.

Accept, it as winning the majority of the issue, and hope VZ sells us, to someone who wants us.

Full speed ahead to train and ramp up. I've seen the union training plans for these EWA jobs. It's not a 1 week deal and we know it. It sucks and will take time with mistakes and on the job training with even some lost business; but don't kid yourself, it's moving forward 100%. No one is irreplaceable in any industry.

The ball is in the Union's court. A last, best final offer means take it or leave it. There is nothing for the company to do until the Union counters. Clock is ticking until 5-20, then all bets are off and Union leadership will be responsible for a surge of homeless people.

Moving full speed ahead? You must be one of the drunken replacements. Not full speed ahead in Westchester County, NY. Not much getting done here. Company bleeding money and customers. Eventually Lowell will check his ego and give up, he has no choice. He grossly underestimated the resolve of the union employees in the remaining footprint.

They pull it off the table? Wouldn't surprise me. The Business is moving full speed ahead as if the jobs were abandoned. Long strike rarely works out good for people impacted by it, especially when there is very little leverage.
