With little drilling, major staff reductions, and declining fields, production will drop. If the price of oil does not recover COP's credit ratings can be slashed and the $30+ billion of loans can be called in. This is the scenario that can lead to COP's bankruptcy. With $30 billion in debt, and less than $1 billion in quarterly income, the future is not bright. The current management plan seems to be cross your fingers and hope that the price of oil recovers.

You do realize that 38% is not too bad given the current industry status, right?

The sky is falling!! This has never happened before and no one has ever seen anything remotely similar in all time! Run for the hills people and stake out a nice cave for yourself because there is no other reality or existence! Fear the fear itself and panic immediately and never stop! Woe is us!
