Hello - I work for a bank that's going through layoffs so I've been spending a ton of time on this site. I have a non-layoff related question. Anyhow, I live in So-Cal and my FIOS was transferred from Verzion to Frontier. I love FIOS and I thought it was THE future of technology, my speeds are amazing. Why would Verizon give up on such a great technology. I am puzzled. Please enlighten me, it's a sincere question and I am not trolling....

Because they need the money to do this : Ricky Gervais told one fan on Twitter the reason he did an advertisement for Verizon is because he made $3.2 million for an hour worth of work.

For the very same reason that Verizon continues to waste billions of dollars on poor investments, the executives have no idea what they are doing.
Because the big Whigs are more interested in catering to millennials with GO90 and buying failing businesses like AOL and Yahoo. The CWA cares about FIOS customers and wants this part of the business to expand, but the CEO and Executives don't really care about those customers unfortunately.
