Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Thus union could end this today by agreeing to come back under mediation. The company will not budge and is going to go the distance.

The end will be by the end of the year with replacement workers trained and in place.

Remember, most employees don't like to hire people in their 40's and 50's nowadays which many of the management are, many have time and title over 30 years with the company. They stand to lose and face hardships as well when the company inevitably gives them the shaft.

not the end of the year, by 6/30. Everyone understands the replacement workers will get the shaft and the management will either see a RIF by the end of the year or go to work for the buying company if they so chose. The main difference is they will have checks in the meantime and other opportunities in some other industry. The union folks staying out have no future and have little to return to as jobs are transferred and positions eliminated.

It certainly appears that way OP. I just hate to think how badly those same replacements will get the shaft by the company down the road, which will inevitably happen. All these bad business decisions to shift from being a telecom and ISP to catering to millenials with go90 and buying non profitable garbage assets like AOL and Yahoo will more than likely backfire imo.
