Are you saying that VZ hired managers for the strike or there is extra management because of the strike?
They were the same managers that were there before the strike.
Let's look at history. The attrition numbers are due to the company getting rid of the long time dead wood. Its the union employee that will lose. There is no guarantees in the contract nor will there be in any new negotiated contract (if at all) that will keep any or all union members.
Planned layoffs for management are due to business unit downsizing or consolidations, it doesn;t have anything to do with the strike. Honestly, whoever decided to go on strike really made a miscalculation of what is coming and the damage that they did to the union employees.
