Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

EWA worker here.

Since doing EWA work I have had to increase my medication. The stress is taking its toll.

This is so stressful for everyone.

Unemployment max is $420 in NY and is sent on 56th day. Deducted from $420 is all income from that week (strike relief, other jobs), and is taxable by IRS and state and city. If you get $300 in strike relief payments you will get no more than. $120, or about $80 after tax. Did the union give you that information?

Demand a plan from the union to get you back to work. Good luck to all.

Rest easy. Relax knowing Lowell McAdumbs is Reeeeelaxin with his multimillion dollar salary, options and benefits package in his Multimillon dollar home in NJ while you scabs ptoduce produce produce for him.

Thank God I have cable and AT&T Wireless.

Your on a sinking ship with no lifeboats. Even the Titanic passengers had better odds.

Unemployment hand-out runs out and Vz still hasn't budged on the offer. Then go compete for whatever jobs exist at that time in the marketplace with the rest of society and realize there aren't any even close to what was offered here financially. Unemployment burned up, in the hole on total compensation for the year from the strike, massive pay cut for new line of work. Sounds like a great strategy.

Unemployment kicking in real soon, add that to the National relief fund, and I'll be getting what i get weekly...........This fight has yet to begin!

DO NOT increase medication dosage without your Dr's knowledge and Consent. This will be over soon, Strikers cannot sustain much longer (especially Inner-City NY/NJ metro area) without a paycheck and definitely without benefits ....hang in there ...Your Health comes first..without it you are no good to anybody including your family.
