Follett didn't lose Tulane, it's been B&N for over 15 years.

Actually got Kentucky many years ago, lost money, lost the contract, got the contract back several years ago, made good money, then lost it again to B&N

Follett has become ignoranta nd arrogant to the market and its competition. For a very long time Follett was the wholesaler of choice because there was no one else offering what Follett had available. Over the years competitors grew and advanced themselves to accomodate Follets clients needs. Follett was arrogant and ignorant and didnt put money into its infrastructure and advance what it cpuld offer its clients. Now Follets competitors are years ahead and Follett is scrambling to catch up with its competition but no one in upper management has book business knowledge and a vision of what the future should look like.

Reality check- What is your core value to your clients? This is elevator speech stuff; Colleges and Universities do business with Follett because Follett delivers...

Do you deliver that? Does management enable you to deliver?

Follett has failed to deliver for years.

How many were lost contracts based on the sheer incompetence of senior management?

How many weren't profitable in just the last three years? How much of profitability was lost to bad service to customers, in errors, wrong stock, and lack of customer support and not just to Amazon.

Add Rider, Georgetown, Catholic Univetsity, Trinity College, Kent State, Caldwell University, Bloomfield College, Sussex CC, Salem CC, Loyola University Baltimore, Manhattan College. LeMoyne University, Westfield State, Massasoit CC, Coppin State and the beat goes on! Sure does make marketing easier for B&N doesn't it? How can Tom Byrne at CBC recommend FHEG? Way to go Marketing!
