If a center is on the list for major layoffs would AT&T add more security officers? If anyone has experienced this at their center could you please post here. Thanx

whoa...noticing a lot of new security faces here in Denver call center...so far everything on this site has been true for my center
Agree, same in LA. We lost 41% of the group and were told this week more is coming.

This is exactly what the company wants people to think. Do you really thin they just want the security people to work more. Wake up.
This was don't in Chicago about tow months before they layoff.
Read thru the posts here and you will see how easy it is to do layoffs. People have all kind of excuses for the increased security and go into shock when the ball drops.
The building consolidation is being done to make it easier to control the layoff. If people in the same department are in two or more buildings then when the hit comes the news spreads to all buildings and people get very upset. Work drops and problems are created.
Hmm. Center in Texas recently closed one building and consolidated remaining people at one center. Security was not increased even though there are three times larger.
At least in AT&T Los Angeles or the former DTV LABC, AT&T is going to bringing in their own security eventually.

If a center has more than 50 bargained people surplused, I believe all the Mobility contracts state that they'll receive 60 days notice.
2 new uniformed security faces at Missoula as of last week. Haven't noticed any of the previous guys missing.
We saw the same here in Chicago. Unknown people were added until the day we were told to go into a meeting. All of a sudden a lot of uniformed security was in place.
We are going down by 38%. We were also told to not discuss the layoff or no one will be able to get a chance at a job. A lot are scared to talk.
The moral is very very bad and no one talks to anyone.
They always add security and until the people are notified they will be unnoticed.
Do you think they will have uniforms? Nope, they will be dressed like the people in the office but no one will know the "new people"
When they laid off people in the call center here they called a meeting then took a few people back to their desks to get anything personal. They then were escorted to the meeting rooms to talk to HR.
many were very upset and some were demanding their VP's show up to talk to them.
Nope did not happen. Depending on seniority and status in the job ( union or management) , they were given 14 to 30 days.
