Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Let's just be honest here...

How many of us really think Follett can turn everything around and bring the company back to its glory and profitable days???

I sure as heck don't... I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery than seeing the company redeem itself.

The problem is that they don't want to admit defeat they would rather tank the company and drown the employees instead of sending out for a mayday or SOS.. they are disillusioning themselves (just like Germany in WWII) that they can still "Win" and come up on top... rather than face the fact that we've been beaten and have no one else to blame but the management and family own vanity and arrogance, and keep on "pretending" that the company is healthy, profitable, and robust... when in truth the company is in just about as bad shape ad Kmart and Sears (heck it may even be worse).

The point was, no sales growth, zip zero nada. B&T must have sold to lower the debt from private equity firm takeovers over the last 20 years. These are declining industries.

Ray has been clear. As revenue drops, lower expenses to keep the bottom line intact. There will be no more top line growth for Follett. Even Baker and Taylor sales went from 2.5b 10 years ago to 1.6b now.

If they survive they will be a very small company with a lot less employees . Maybe the family is ok with that . We are all in tough times now .

I think Follett will turn it around.

And by turn it around, I mean flounder aimlessly for a decade or so until complete collapse.

even if they were making all the right moves its still a dying industry. Theyre just stabbing everyone as the ship sinks to kill you quicker.
