Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Disaster

That's all I can say about the shape of the network after the last 7 weeks. Just put in 12 hours and didn't make a dent fixing these screw ups. VOICE LINK INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE LOOP? Are you f---ing kidding me? Lazy EWA'S are butchers! Splice cases not sealed, wire nuts in the middle of a loop in a tree? And why is almost every hut, cev and CO without air conditioning? Did anyone do anything in the last month and a half? From what I saw today all they did was CREATE more work. EWA'S should be ashamed.

During EWA times, there was no such 10 days rule. You install VL and that is it.

Voice links are not an option for a landline it is their as a temp fix and must be replaced in 10 days that's the ruleeeeeee

Post ID: @1jgy+HGE34DH

You DO realize that when customer is eligible and agrees to voice link, you have to install voice link instead of fixing the loop? When customer is eligible for VL and you do NOT install it, you will be asked "WHY" upon closing that job.

Now I understand that you hate VL because it undercuts source of repairs:) but complaining that EWA followed rules?

@HGE34DH-1pgc What a bunch of lies. You bums stole-broke-hid and destroyed tools before the strike and still got out performed.

I feel so relieved now that ive been released from my EWA. I worked in the field and was harassed daily by men old enough to be my dad. The women were worse than animals. Picketers followed my van every day including to customers homes. They tried to make me crash, tried to get hit, tried to break my concentration while struggling through dangerous work I only read about in the job aid, anything to break my spirit. The unions werent just picketing and exercising freedom of speech- Many of them were down right criminal.

Just want to say thank you to all the union and non union guys who worked with us during the strike. You guys were so supportive, patient and kind and the only reason I got work done. You guys are great. Thanks for helping us all get through this.

Back yesterday - our managers told us it was a disaster the past 6 weeks- all of our tools have been stolen and so many of our brand new bucket trucks have all types of damage. Things we would be suspended or fired for- but i guess they had no choice but to set the bar super low- so thievery of thousands of dollars in tools and destruction of brand new vehicles was just part of the sad, pathetic deal. We got pretty much everything we wanted in this contract- not quite sure what the corp got out if it.

Seems like the EWAS are a bunch of crying, whining, bitches get over it

Go back to your hole and do the job you were groomed to do

I know you were probably abused all through out your school years and this strike just brought back those memories but move on and stop worrying about the union

You act as if your villages were burned down and woman and children were taken from you

So you were called names get over it none of it matters at this point we are back to work because you guys well the majority of you were a joke at performing our duties

The bravado you show about doing anything you did is what's wrong with society today and where you get the audacity to come on here and state otherwise is comical

You can post and repost that you performed but that still won't make it true our customers know it and so does the company THIS IS WHY WE ARE BACK YOU DID NOT SUCCEED and that's okay you see sometimes in life you need to accept that just trying to do ones job does not grant a gold medal

Not everyone can win so go suck on your company lollipops and hope that in 2019 you do a better job

And know we will be waiting for the day you attempt to fail AGAIN

Keep gloating about the quality of work... it doesn'the matter.... you acted like animals on the picket line you proved yourself to be subhuman. You eliminated the possibility that you might be respected. Pay? Benefits? Ot? You think you deserve these things? Every one of you should be fed into a woodchipper alive.

Are you really gloating about the decay of services and broken customer relationships for a product YOU and thousands of others rely on to earn a living? The contract and all its union goodies are nothing but dust without the customer base and their hard earned dollars that support it and give you purpose. All the customers we lost will go on to grow their services elsewhere and feed the families of our competitors. You guys trashed Verizon in every way you could but now that the sh-- storm is over none of those customers are lining up to resume service BECAUSE you got a contract. You harassed, demoralized and put fellow employees at risk. I've worked with you union folk for years and I know you couldn't do what the EWAs did. They earned my respect and it just made me work even harder to help them through transport issues. The union is going to learn that you dont sh-- where you eat the hard way.

40K union baboons walked out and 10K EWA's did your jobs AND bested you at your own profession. With 75% less people, EWA's did your jobs and did them better. This means that one EWA is 3X as valuable as you slobs who call this work a "craft". You should all be ashamed of yourselves and this tantrum you pulled. I don't think you all fully understand what you've inspired across the organization. The sad truth is that a lot of good people who are far more valuable and talented than any of you will lose jobs over this stunt. Enjoy your paper contract while it holds. Were all gunning for you.

Shove it you hot dog eating slob. Yeah, you are such a rocket scientist that can make such important decisions. Just remember, you are in a union because you could never cut it with a real employer. And, while I am at it, the Verizon Sr leadership team blows, bunch of selfish jerks.

@1jfx let me come sit in your basement and do your work while you sit there not making a dime it's all part of the game we go on strike and whoever is doing our job while we are fighting for a extremely small piece of the pie will be treated that way I'm sure providing coffee and tea wouldn't have the same effect

I'm guessing you have never been in a union or want to be but before you tell that you would just go get a different that's such bull shiit understand verizon put you in that position not the union they shipped you away from your families quite frankly because they could and they really don't give a sh-- about you or is for that matter

We as union members fight to keep what we have because if we don't verizon would take everything every union member in the past has fought for now maybe in 3,4 or even 10 years from now my job will be obselte as you all say well so be it but we will not lay down and and allow that to happen today because it is still relevant and customers do rave about the product

And remember as far as name calling and all the other crap you might have dealt with nobody layed a hand on you or anyone else for that matter so my point is you guys had a job to do but we did as well

Hey all in all you guys got a good contract , you didnt let lowell dumb down your contract , you guys put up a great fight.on the other hand , we lower level manegers got screwed a long time ago and theres nothing we can do ,thats not your fault cause some of these posts from outside area guys are idiots and seem to be jealous of what the union guys have.I know I as a maneger have to take sh-- from this company .so just want to say congrats to my employees for fighting for whats right..and im glad your back , im not the type of maneger with a chip on my shoulder or a bitter attitude , I bleed red just like my guys and I respect them and they respect me.so if there are any upper level manegers that read this post .learn to treat people like people it will go a long way in your life

You wrote vulgar nasty things along with standing in a picket line not letting EWA's leave the garage calling us scabs and other things I will not mention... Picketing are hotels.. Punching are trucks, videoing people.. You were like a bunch of animals.. And now you get what you wanted and are like WHY are you hating on union guys... Really???

And I'm really not sure why any of you give a crap about what we have or don't have for that matter

I'm proud of the work I did, and I did the best I could do be never one time took a shortcut or the easy way out. I did the job with pride. But, I also know there is no way I did the job like you can. You've been doing it for hers, and you're the expert. We all have our expertise, and this certainly wasn't mine lol. I'm seriously glad you're back so now we can all do what we do best.

The three 1st level managers in my garage were so happy to see us they had some crazy stories about the EWA's but I must say I don't blame the EWA's for not knowing what they were doing it was only 7 weeks but the part that's annoying is listening to them on this board brag about how great of a job they did maybe you had to much company kool to drink and had management stroking your egos but seriously after what me and my co-workers have seen and heard in just one day lets stop the nonsense YOU DID THE BEST YOU COULD BUT THAT WASNT GOOD ENOUGH AND THATS WHY WE ARE BACK

And yes I agree in 7 weeks time I would mess up at your job too but I won't sit here and lie about it

@ionc. What a load of bullish!t. You had good offers in front of you all along. But the union is too greedy and couldn't stand it that Lowell doesn't give a rats a$$ about you. You know this is your last chance to get a contract because in 4 years either all of you will be fired for incompetence, or you will be sold to another company because VZ doesn't need or want you.

First of all it was Verizons' piss poor executive management that caused this strike to happen with their lbfo offer and fedexing every member before their final negotiation team even sat down...the union didn't want to strike or walk off the job ...we tried to negotiate for 10 months after the contract expired...the company caused the strike and couldn't give a sh-- about the customer .....not the union. Period...

You sound like a little brat. Lol. Did mommy breast feed you till you were 16? Your just mad because we have a better paying, better benefit, better protected and just plain fun job and you don't! It's kind of comical that you say we are greedy considering the company wanted all the take backs. Are you just mad because now we see the lies you've been telling for the last 7 weeks? You should be ashamed of yourself for being such a liar. I feel sorry for you being that you just sound so angry. It must suck being you, your spouse, your kid or even your parent. What a waste of sperm you were. It's people like you who make this a sh--ty place to work at sometimes. You should calm down before you start beating your spouse or kids. You sound like you could use some professional help. As a matter of fact you kind of sound like this other guy on here?! Are you really whale guy? 🐳 I hope it is because I miss laughing AT you.

@ipal the disgrace to Verizon is the greedy ignorant union slobs who let the network go down because you wanted to "prove" how much you're needed. You walked off the job leaving your co workers to do your job because you were too lazy and greedy to do it yourself. You screwed us, and the customer so now you can go screw yourself!

@dls

You are clueless, "do your job as best you can everyday everytime" you should get out of the C. O. more often. Those days are long gone, new management means new strategy. Jobs per day my friend, how that happens, nobody cares. Taken time to fix it right the first time are all but a memory. My career with the phone company is winding down, I hope the less senior people have a plan b.

@yqt .... actually the only loser was the customer. A side by side look at the contract indicates the Union should have taken the first offer to mediate. The EWA held together what they could, as they could. No one expected them to be perfect but to try. We lost POTS customer by the drove. Thank you to the Union for enabling Verizon to continue to migrate away from copper landlines.

Don't be one damn bit surprised if the copper side is spun off with the switch. That leaves the Transport side with wireless. I work inside and frankly, I could care less about the copper POTS customer. I work Transport for the fiber/wireless backbone in a C.O. and the Switching and POTS side are maybe %1 of my job. I will be glad to see it go away.

As I said to a OSP tech that just can't bare to talk to me .... "It is your customer, not mine. If you want to keep this customer you and your group need to do your job as best you can every day and every time."

I do not consider the wireline customer to be my customer. He/she once was but no longer is as the bulk of my work is now in Transport.

Wireline should be spun off and separated with Union slobs at its helm.... Let them die their own death along with the copper plant... It's such a big dead weight verizon has carried for a decade now .... I agree wireline should be separated and run on its own... Just like sprint did with Embark... Embark, embarked on its own destiny of death and died of natural causes without Sprint having anything to do with it. Why can't Verizon do the same....spin off wireline and put Union at its management and CEO so they chose their own fate...

And let's see how long you stay...your mistake can take a CO down at most...my mistake can take down whole footprint from NY to CA...including frontier... And that's one wrong keystroke... Union slobs are easily replaceable and then they go file unemployment hahahhaa whereas we go get better offers and sometimes perks that are never heard off...like stocks.. Prime example my coworker that left last year... Skills skills skills....that's all you don't get it moron... Is your attic empty and available for rent ? Got it or should I explain that too...?
