@wpp .... venom? You bet! The very same venom the striking workers directed at the EWA and non-union members. Members need to do the math on this contract. It is not as good as it looks.

That was then........this is now... The over compensation, relative to the market, causes higher prices for every consumer. It also causes higher taxes when governments pay the higher "prevailing wage" rather than lower market wages that could be realized. Every consumer and tax payer is paying for the pensions and inflated rates/wages as a result of years of union members greed.

This is a publicly traded company and not a private firm so the economy of profits should remain in the economy of America. Share the wealth here in the community.

Union in the past was there for a reason. But this strike was about fighting corporate greed and protecting middle class workers so they say. All I see are fools harassing working middle class American and waking innocent guest up at hotel for their own personal greed. Did they stop the CEO from making millions and share the wealth? Nope. Do they really care about other middle class workers? nope. All personal greed at the end of the day.

I cannot believe the venom directed at the striking workers! This is what America has come to, petty spite and jealousy toward those few workers with a real benefits package trying to preserve what they have. Should they give up and join the race to the bottom, contract and at-will workers competing against the entire developing world for a living wage, while the CEO and investors garner ever-larger wealth? Good for the Verizon union workers! Bring the unions, and middle class, back to America! Cheers

Amen to that

Technology is changing at a faster pace than ever before, Verizon is investing heavily into its wireless home services.

Unfortunately, the union will be facing an uphill battle unless they begin training their workforce for the future.

Unions are the best bet for the working class.

Anyone who sees unions as the problem needs to stop drinking the Kool-aid.

Corporate has been basting in large revenue gains all the while not sharing the wealth with the ones who actually create the value. Americans need to stop attacking the teachers, police, and other workers that keep our social fabric intact.
