After months of being unemployed and going through agencies i called my old line manager for "a reference" but also really just to talk and ask how things were. I asked about my old work and projects and he said there may be an opportunity to get me back and he actually did. 2 weeks later he got in touch. I feel SO happy im back with SLB. Writing RIRs never felt so good lol. I would encourage anyone who wants their job back to at least try, beat around the bush to get on the subject, etc. I thought to myself why not ask for it back i had lost my job what else in a professional sense is their to lose?

Well I'm still currently employed through SLB I have no problem. I actually enjoy working here.

Congrats, you're now the person we're laughing at behind closed doors because you couldn't show any initiative to find a new position and came crawling back to the company who kicked you to the curb. What did your act prove? It proved, wether it be truth or not, that you have low self esteem and unwanted by other companies….at least that's what the rest of us are thinking. Again I say congrats. The feeling you experienced when you were laid off will be one you'll be familiar with again since you're disposable enough to be laid off and dumb enough to come back.
