Just got back from a interview, hired on the spot. The rest is icing on the cake. We start talking about the strike and Verizon, and with little effort the guy said he will switch providers. Wow, that's a win win, am I right.

Must not be a very high level position if you got hired on the spot. High level positions always go more than one interview.

Regardless of the silly "drive thru" comments, etc.....I applaud you for taking charge of your life. You are in a situation you dont like and are doing something about it. The jab about getting your new employer to switch providers was, in my opinion, of no benefit for you to do though. You took a chance at looking petty to your new employer without an upside to your interview (as in there was no way that it could cast you in a positive light, your best hope was that they dont hold it against you).
