That only implies there were prior best and finals. So why would anyone think it's really the last? Poor choice of words by a PR approved statement.

Best and Final Offer means they are moving to the next step, but without you. Not good.

"Last Best, and Final" is a legal term. They had to use that terminology to be legally able to declare an impasse and lock out the union.

There is no contract to enforce and whoever crosses resigned their union rights. I think your miss speaking.
*Actually they wouldnt force the contract on those that have crossed as I believe they are now considered non union.
It's a term that is commonly used in bargaining. What it gives is VZ a PR advantage to lock you all out. They notified the press that if you declined the offer an impasse would exist. They can choose to continue bargaining or they can choose to hire permanent replacement workers now since they provided a final offer and it was declined. They also can now legally force the declined contract from yesterday on those who have crossed.
