Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

My center in the se is not closing. We have hired 30 reps and have at least 3 more training classes that will begin in the next months

Notorious for increasing calls while they hire overseas vendors even will give you overtime and the next week boom closed. Your job went overseas happens all the time.

Im in the Ocala, Fl call center....calls are back to back all day every day, and we are still hiring reps and having training classes. However, I know for a fact about 10 employees in random positions have been given a surplus notice, and I hear the team managers have been talked to about the possibility & are waiting to find out if they will be affected.

Yeah I think you're not paying attention if you think you're safe because your call center "seems" to not be targeted. If you have a year or two it doesn't mean you should be sleep walking. You're reading these boards and you should be seeing what att is capable of. Stay alert, guarded and ready with a plan.

That doesn't matter. Att will let you hire in to another dept, then close it a month later. Training classes are not to bank on. They may use them for 6 months and then close it. SE call centers, watch your back and start applying and sending out resumes. Dirty company

What type of center is it? Sales & Service for consumer or business? Tech support? Wireless? Uverse?According to 2nd levels no new hires were happening that's why the call volumes are high and wait times are over an hour
