Here's hoping some of these vlss Blackbelts are getting a dose of reality and finding out some of the difficulties they've created with their slash slash slash mentality.

The purpose of VLSS is not to cut jobs. That is a total misrepresentation of what VLSS is and what it is focused on. VLSS uses statistical tools to help identify and eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies in existing process to help companies save money and increase productivity. The purpose is to help companies be more efficient to save on cost. Now, if the company decides that due to process improvement they can do with less employees than that is their decision, but I have not been involved with a single project that was tied to an attempt to reduce headcount. Companies need to be more efficient in a lean economy in order to remain competitive.
Just like GE chucked VLSS as dead wood on the same day Verizon was heralding its strict obedience to it. Once again, Verizon is a day late and a dollar short to the party.
Funny how the people who answer phones and splice cables without having college degrees are experts on VLSS.
VLSS gets rid of the deadwood in the company so it doesn't surprise me that the deadwood doesn't like it.
That "philosophy" has ruined the company, and caused loads of animosity. At the end of the day, it has not made any difference in actual productivity.
"Improve" the process, real gains are never made. GE learned this years ago
Did you perhaps not read what you just wrote, or am I missing something?
What does VLSS have to do with anything? They work to improve processes, not deal with headcount.
