The best part about the new FiOS commercial is that it demonstrates just how foolish and weak the current company leadership (sic) is with repect to customers, dollars and technology. As those fools keep trying to sell 'the New Coke' to customers with Go90 and Hum, customers are really interested in 'connecting' - not more marketing and more millennial BS. Connectivity is what brought Verizon to the party, not dreams of being the modern Madmen.

Once it is all 5G and wireline completely retired, then 100% of VZ jobs will be shipped to India with an Indian CEO, similar to Microsoft or Google. All the towers are already sold.
fios numbers were falling. senior management wants more revenue from fiber, that's why you are seeing a few more fios commercials on TV and ramped up marketing in general. not too too much however. we cannot make it look too shiny and profitable.
this is just to bleed it dry until everything gets moved to 5g. verizon is dead set on shutting down the wire-line side and moving all data (which will be TV also by that time) over 5G.
then senior management can tell the wireline side that they are all no longer needed because we don't sell wireline products anymore.
it's only a matter of time.

Fios is needed to support the data that wireless is not providing to customers. The speeds you get from Fios is not matched by wireless carriers YET. Over the next 5 years our landscape is going to change. With content being streamed over the airwaves like netflicks and Hulu, it's only a matter of time that we get into it as well. We are the reason streamers can get content into the homes for NOW. With 5g standards coming out later this year, we have already planned ahead to test what we think the standards will be. If we want to stay relevant and expand into markets that are blocked off to us or not enough value to build out. Why do you think wireless is able to lease land and build towers providing service everywhere? With data speeds allowing more and more gigabytes to pass thru them it's only a matter time all content is going to be sent this way.
Stop90 is actually good for soccer fans, probably nobody else... Oh, but that was before it stopped working. Couple days now it just force closes every time i try to open it... Marni is my hero
FIOS is a wanted product. I can't find any numbers for HUM, or go90. How many people are using those products, it's a secret. Folks that have FIOS love it, folks who can't get FIOS want it, nuff said.
FiOS is a hell of a lot better than anything the new product people have come up with and all of Lowell's team are weaklings compared to Ivans.
I think the company plan is to use 5G as the new last mile.
The union will be dead.
They will need less then 1/2 of the union members in 5 years.

I honestly believe Lowell is trying to run the remaining fios areas into the ground, so that what is left of Ivan's legacy, will be completely erased. If all else fails, he'll fly off into the sunset in his golden parachute.
