I've read in a few posts that the company plans to outsource ALL of IT. To clarify, it would be the development teams that are at risk, right? Finance managed by GL, Course Materials managed by NS, Merch Systems managed by SR.....those development teams? Are all jobs going offshore, or does Follett still work with some US based firms to hire local contract-based development resources? Are there any teams that have been completely outsourced (QA comes to mind)?

Yep, it is sad. Once a family company now sold to an Indian trash company. Tata and another for consulting IT services, so poor support and crappy products. IBM in areas to replace managers and directors (if not already) it will be down to SS to oversee his consultants to do the work to tell them what to do since they will just kowtow to him as those who knew the business questioned his motives and his unethical behavior in which he and his minions were brought to HR and HR was afraid to do anything for fear of their own.
Don't stand up for yourselves, just listen to the idiocracy that continues where the title means others will bow to their masters and question their stupidity, off you go

I had nothing to do with IT, but I am a long standing employee Follett what was called " family member" which was preached for years. We had super bowl parties, we had fun, we worked towards a common goal. First time poster and I am shocked at what I have read. It kills me this is what my current company who pays me a check every two weeks acts like. Not that we all don't know or feel it as it is not the same company.
To walk into a place a business with such sad souls, bad attitudes, and lack of motivation, Follett should be giving each and every associate 2 weeks sick time just to recover from coming into a harmful, toxic environment. Yet, they demand productivity, the job of two or three, without a raise this year, again, and want "team member" Ray or "associate" Follett family support.
Not the way to run your business to piss all of the current people you have.. Taking things overseas, what are you Nabisco???? Last I saw they contributed way more to the State of Illinois and the community than Follett's ever did. Are you trying to drive your family name into the ground?????
I think it is interesting that everyone tries to call out who is writing what. Who cares? Know that most who write here are disappointed and hurt. Most of us gave and are still giving you over 25 years of our lives to a company that is ungrateful, selfish, and clearly wrong in their strat plan. Some were slapped on the face and walked out. Those of us who remain will soon be in the same position. I think the convenient part is when they reduced the serverace package from the two weeks for every year of service to one. Genuis Follett. Who got you to do that , MS???? The man who came from an insurance company and certainly is the part of all this madness????? Not to mention the personality of wall paper paste????? Or how about DG and CW who came from Very successful companies to grow our business? Again, please go to a Sears store and welcome all your friends and family to the store as they are non-existant with customers.. sound familiar?? . Hey guys, where are the pop ups you spoke about when you came on board and all the better good you were going to do? Where is the retail saturation we were going to do? Was GT and his pony show a bad hire without oversite??? Everyone knows when you have to question where his team was half the time not a good investment for Follett, with YOUR direction.
I support all my fellow co-workers today who should be given free acess to Starbucks anytime, huge disounts for their children's educational materials and are made to suffer every day of their lives coming in to this place.
ML, we salute you.. if this is what the family told you to do and your early departure was you had enough Hats off to you GF. If you came into destroy hard working families who built this business for Follett and now have people trying to explain why they can't pay a mortgage, afford College and why Daddy or Mommy has to work at Walmart due to their age, you accomplished exactly what you set out to do
KILL FOLLETT...NO. Turn it over to peole who care and watch us grow. Open your options as maybe you might open market share to the rest of us poor souls who take your abuse day. Take a good long look at Wegmans grocery chain. Employee owned... maybe WE can bring it back if the Follett's want OUT!

Yes all of those teams. eFollett and QA are complete. No they do not use any US companies for consulting. This stuff takes time.
