Doesn't make any sense??

The last note stated "Mandated hours, many worked well past ten." "Saturday's a must, and don't forget the KPI reports they run from home on Sunday night so they could be ready first thing Monday morning."

Who mandates that to Buyers and Planners in GM? Initials are fine, as I can't see any supervisors being strict on this and if someone working at 10 they either don't have enogh people, trying to be only 9 to 5 or workload not realistic. if workload not realsitc then supervisor would help or raise it up, maybe I am neive but doesn't make sense.

GM hires young college grads and puts them thru the ringer. Most of them are retail/merchandising/planning grads, so of course they are are fashionable, young and many times attractive. They have to be on point for fashion because that's what their job involves. Yes, even in GM it was commented on, but the post was a bit more crass than called for.

If you knew what the planners and buyers go through, you might wonder how they managed to look good while being treated like crap. Mandated hours, many worked well past ten. Saturday's a must, and don't forget the KPI reports they run from home on Sunday night so they could be ready first thing Monday morning. Way too many hours, with the lure of a big bonus payout that will not be seen this year.

Oh and I couldn't agree more having brains and talents was a given since a large numbering them were responsible for the success of Follett... just commenting that there looks was an extra treat and if you look at what we have today at the company they couldn't hold a candle to our old talent but brains and looks!

This is just an obnoxious statement. The people in GM are extremely hard working. Yes, many were young women who happened to be attractive, but they also were intelligent. I don't see much of that in your post.
