It appears Aspen was another great purchase. Losing money so a bunch of people just got let go. I heard 41.

DM, HG, RT, NS JF and many others. Keep in mind it is a perk becuase they are not doing any work, and the vendors wine and dine them for a week.
There needs to be a smoking gun to take action.
Hula and Tom P and FBI worked to oust and arrest the turnaround CIO. Spent some time in club fed as I remember... Mr. Hula, now he was a leader.
His investment in offshore company should have excluded him from the decision to that offshore company. Can we say "CODE OF CONDUCT?"
How is SS still employed? They had another CIO once who had an investment in an IT vendor the company used, not good, ended badly.
Great post from IT person. I also was assigned to ORPOS project in my area. Could never get my systems to work with interface after 18 months. Rotating door for outsourced consultants. New group every 3-6 months meant starting over constantly. Endless frustration and a total waste of time and money.
I work within the IT area. What does not make sense is this was a private and family owned company that ran successfully prior to all this nonsense. There was a decision to put a non-family member at helm. Ever since then, poor decisions were being made. The largest has been the IT area. The decision to outsource has been the poorest one ever. The other decision has been the failing Oracle Point of Sale. Even Oracle states this product is dead. We continue to invest in it. However, SS and MF have successfully pushed for the continue use of said product and as mentioned, pump money to keep something alive. With these two, outsourcing and the dead product, implemented the perfect fail within IT, costing the company a large sum affecting the bottom line.
Should I mention the slight ownership, or investment in, the outsourcing group in India our own CIO has? How does this not violate the code of conduct is beyond me.
Back to speaking of financial impacts, the IT group has spent millions on half a$$ and other products needing support from the outside as management thought it was a superb idea, only to have no understanding how to use the products. All because these middle managers wanted to seem important and make decisions like big boys and sit on SS lap and stroke him to fulfill their own ego.
As all have said, the SS Titanic is sinking and it is bringing the SS Follett with it
Any names or initials of those in this layoff?
What and why are Follett s IT in India?
They cannot afford to show their employee any appreciation like giving them raises, but we send a bunch to India? Again WHY?
Stores are being affected by a new round? When, where?
SS, MF, PJ, MB, few others in IT
Horray! More layoffs! Follett is #1!
I wouldn't view visiting that cesspool of a country as some perk
Yearly? That's understated, or just wrong. They went more than once a year in prior years.
Can you name any names of the managers who traveled to India? I find that very concerning.
And as the layoffs continue, certain people in management are enjoying themselves in India (As we speak). Of course Follet is willing to continue investing in these yearly trips. After all, every trip brings Follett one step closer to offshoring more departments.
