I work in the vault services for Chase in downtown Houston. We were told January 13th that the site would be closing in April. We received our electronic notifications and release agreements March 2nd, which gives us a 45 day notice that our jobs will be eliminated. During a recent call that was designed to answer any questions we had, we thought it was only going to be the Houston site on the call but there were several other sites on as well. Not sure what I'm going to do for my career after leaving Chase, but I will probably be switching to something outside of banking. Being that I came to Chase with no experience working with money, I didn't have the best experience working in the banking field. This is part of the reason why I want to get out of banking. I feel bad for the people I work with who have been with Chase for 20-30 years. My supervisor has 35 years of service! Yet she's getting laid off like the rest of us.
