Team,
Today, we will begin notifying employees who will be impacted by the global restructuring we announced on February 17. Most of the impacted employees will be notified over the next 24 hours. However, in parts of EMEA and APAC, the restructuring and potential employee impact are subject to local consultation processes, which are ongoing.
The people who are impacted are our friends and colleagues and we will go through this process with the utmost respect for them and for their contributions to NetApp.
One of the best things about NetApp is being part of a team that cares deeply about building a company we can all be proud of for the long term. Decisions that impact the team, even when needed for the long-term health of the business, are difficult but we cannot avoid them. We are responsible for balancing business realities, shareholder expectations, and financial results while sustaining what makes NetApp a special place to work. My commitment is that we will carry out all decisions respectfully and treat employees with the dignity and care they deserve. This includes putting into place controls so that the changes we make are sustained, and staying committed to transforming NetApp permanently into a leaner, more efficient, and effective company aligned with the changing landscape and focused on the fastest growing segments of the market.
I am personally committed to building a thriving company that honors the contributions of every NetApp employee. This period of extraordinary change will yield extraordinary opportunity to help customers navigate these changing times, and to help fundamentally transform NetApp to lead in the next era of IT.
George
