Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Looking at 'the competition'

No rant here, but for we the happy few(er, and fewer) at F-mart, I give you a glimpse at Amazon's section of this site; https://www.thelayoff.com/amazon-com

Most interesting aspect I noticed? Amazon appears to be engaging with the board. Wonder if it's working?

People on that board are posting with less frequency. Also, Amazon is a tech giant and a retail giant. The topics and the posts demonstrate that Amazon does things all employers do, cut costs and pass the impact onto their employees.

Follett is the suckiest of them all

Follett is to college retail as Yahoo is to search engines, always trying to trick their customers into setting Yahoo as the default search engine.

I just heard that Follett shut down the Dom Rep stores after about a year. How much of an investment and loss did Follett experience. How much did opening these stores distract employees from important material tasks to help the company? Who made the decision to open and then close?
