Safety!!!

The safety violations out there are mind blowing!!

EWA and contractors alike are disregarding basic safety. Wall Street journal has pick today of a manager on a trouble in sneakers. In the field, I see daily.....No helmets. No vests. No chalks/cones . Doubting dot's are filled out properly if at all! Ladder straps,rubber gloves/188 nowhere to be seen. For those of you who aren't aware, any of these safety violations are an automatic 1 day suspension at least for the normal workforce. But now Verizon doesn't care? I guarantee that if this goes on any length of time that someone will get killed or at least seriously injured. Will it be you? This is the question the union field tech asks everyday and they know what they're doing

Anyone notice that the union people on here always seem to throw out junior high types of "jokes"? You don't see educated adults talking about Lowell cleaning out a colon, just union people.

If the conduct on here is any reflection on the overall union then they have a lot of immature and uneducated people working for them.

Deepest apologies to all. The guy in tennis shoes was little Bobby Smudge. Turns out he's down with an awful case of the gout due to all of his recent consumption of fast food. Lowell is going to be cleaning his colon out this evening, so he should be able to wear steel toes by tomorrow.

The replacements out in the field are doing jobs they don't typically do. Unfortunately there will be some things that are done differently or incorrectly when people are doing something they're not used to doing. It happens during strikes.

If it were possible for the non-union employees to strike and the union employees had to be their replacements there would be issues as well. It is what it is.

I am an EWA, prior I&M and Facilities Tech so I know the job and I agree 100% with the OP. What I have seen is mind-blowing. I really hope no one gets hurt out here before the experienced techs are back on the job.

@zlv...what does that even mean? It's not about productivity at all ,or breaks or how fast or how long they work. Safety is no joke just ask OSHA.... or the dozen Union guys who are no longer with us or their families for doing their jobs.

Just a serious question... Can you die performing your job. If that's not a possibility then you have no clue...if it is..? then shame on you

Where is this world going to. I bet some of these replacements are even working through their breaks to maintain productivity. They ought to be fined by the union for such blatant disregard for rules.
