Lots Of Public Support For This Strike

Did everyone suddenly become pro-union? Or what did Verizon do to these people? Like 8 out of every 10 people I speak to say they support the strikers. Seems like the company made a blunder this time.

@GXzqxhA-jmx I am neither a millennial nor a foreign worker. Sorry for disappointing you.

Not only unions or non-unions , everybody could post or write comments on this thread. Skilled employee my ass Everybody could be replaced, especially those 'skilled' uneducated union jerks like you.

@ioz...your grammar is pretty sad. Must be a typical troll, possible scab. But you're clearly not an educated, skilled employee fighting for the betterment of the masses.

Tons of beeping because you strikers cause a major traffic and they want you guys get out of the way so they can go to dwork. Ask what happened last week on Route 29 MD. I stuck there for 2 hours because you union folks. Thank you so much for fighting for American Workers!

hwv! You did better than me. When I was riffed 12/31 my family was all I got to quit vz and transfer to T-Mobile. Making efforts to do better and get 5 other families to quit vz wireless. Go T-Mobile.

I also agree with the greater support this time. During the last strike I heard a lot of angry people suggesting we get our effing a's back to work. But this time, there's TONS of beeping and support. The best is when the retirees drive by and give a thumbs up. Tons of support this time. It's real great to see.

I was watching picketers on Friday afternoon, and most of the people that they were trying to get to honk for their support were giving them the finger instead. You are delusional.

lowmac definitely picked the wrong time and the wrong battle. Not Trump, Cruz, Bernie nor Hillary will defend Verizon one bit! Shipping jobs that Americans want to do overseas, and gaming the H1B system in the current election year will is not a winning proposition. Sooner or later the sleeping giant wakes, and it is wide awake now!

The country is fed up with Greedy Corporations sending American jobs oversea's and CEO's insane salaries. It truly is out of control.

@GXzqxhA-ljb You are sooooo right. As a former manager, that has done OSP before, had we been out there when the storm happened - I can't even think about it. But there is a lesson there: you absolutely cannot trust the execs one bit. Give and inch and they will take a mile. You got them by the balls now, don't let go, we are all counting out you. No matter what the idiot kool-aid drining wireless snowflakes are posting here.

The union made a fatal mistake when we didn't strike just before the hurricane during negotiations on the last contract. We gave them life, and they're taking ours. The union has already agreed to huge givebacks this time around. The final contract will include even more.

Since 12/31/15 when my job was eliminated in the wireless reorganization I got 5 people to cancel VZW service and go to TMobile.

@eir, "No one tells me what to do or how to do it." You are definitely a millennial and you definitely will get chewed up and spit out if you truly believe this. In the meantime, I'll tell you what to do. Go #u(k yourself. By the way, I don't care how you do it.

Out of the thousands of cars passing the lines I was on the past 4 days I only heard 2 hecklers, everyone else has been beeping and waving. This strike has been way different than past ones I've been on when hecklers were much more present. Feels great.

So do the union folks understand that the union bosses do NOT work for VZ and are still getting paid no matter how long the strike is. Do the union folks understand that the union bosses really don't care what the new contract says. They just want you to stay in the union and pay your dues so they make millions of dollars each year. Do the union employees understand that it really doesn't matter what the end result is...Verizon will win and the union bosses will cave and they will tell the union folks they did their best and the contract is great--even though it won't be...It won't matter. Union folks will still listen to union bosses and pay dues. I am an adult. I think for myself. No one tells me what to do or how to do it. I work hard. I continue to further my education and certifications so I can be a valuable member of a team....VZ or otherwise. I am responsible for my destiny, Not a union boss. Get a grip, get a clue, get an education and get a job that you are qualified for...not one you think you are entitled to.

Get with the program idiot. You must have a 6 figure job and never take your nose out of your smartphone. Wake up !! Verizon is the very epitome of cut throat, scum sucking capitalist douchebags. They would rob their own mother's last red cent. Only when the power of the greedy is eliminated will the average person be respected. Good Luck to the strikers. Keep fighting and never give in.

About 15 of my neighbors who know I'm on strike with Verizon have canceled both their home and wireless services. I'd call that being pretty supportive. Especially considering that I didn't even mention to them that I was on strike. You and the executives underestimate the hate that people feel towards this company.

Its not new bro. Where have you been the last few years. Everyone hates verizon the customers tell you every job how much they hate your company. The employees would rather die then go to work and thats union and non union. And the whole country has been tired of these greedy monsters running these large companies for years now . Did you actually think somebody would defend a multi billion dollar company instead of a regular joe
