@5yhq, I call you out as the same loser that likes to use ROTFLMAOBOAY. You are also the same poster that has replied to your own defense several times in this thread. What a pitiful loser you are. No woman, No prospects, No job, No future. (Surely he will be checking this thread every 3 minutes to see if he got a response and reply again posing as someone else bolstering his point of view). Lol.

I'm cracking up at the losers below who feel they need to talk about whether they're gettin' any or my wife is this or that, anonymously on the internet where you can make up anything you want and no one can prove otherwise. Go tell that to someone face-to face, losers. This is a layoffs forum, why is the subject your inadequate masculinity? Also, if you don't know an internet or text abbreviation, look it up, computer-challenged idiots. Google is your friend.

@GQiMmLX-5umx, Yes you are exactly correct. Why would someone discuss, boast, brag, and focus on issues anonymously on a website if they were not having those exact problems themselves. What would it prove? Whom are they trying to convince? Obviously -themselves only. The victims keep adding up as you can see below. Layoffs can be hard on many people. Please use this site to help cope, dear sexually, financially and emotionally distraught strangers. God Bless you.

Go back to psychology school, @5mga. That lame personality profiling of yours is not up-to-date. I have a "trophy" wife with a strong sex drive. This idiot who tries to coin the acronym of ROTFLMAO and ROTFLMAOBOAY is an immature fool, which by all classic psychology cases, would make him a person with No woman, No prospects, No job, No future. Don't defend him, unless it is you, the same person.

@GQiMmLX-5rva is Obviously "the fool with no woman, no prospects, no job and no future". Because someone wouldn't keep repeating that if it isn't stuck in their pea-brain for obvious reasons.

You can be sure that the posters below posting about "you know what", never get any "you know what" or else they wouldn't be posting about it on an anonymous forum, which is as close as they can get.

@5rva, it sounds like ROTFLMAO is only jealous. He wakes up every morning with his dick in hand.

What do you know about sex flings, ROTFLMAO? Aren't you the fool with no woman, no prospects, no job and no future? That lucky dude's claim has a ring of truth to it.

@-4mog, Don't forget what he also had in his hand the entire time that he was dreaming. The package that keeps on giving! Even his old boss that canned him can't take that away.

@GQiMmLX-4lss, And then you woke up and your dreams came to an end. That's a shame. At least the getting canned part is a memory that you can hold on to!!! ROTFLMAO!

@4snz, She is definitely fine. We had a fling, off and on for 4 months, until her father caught me with her. She has a cute mole on her inner left thigh under her panty line. Loved her moan too. That's history now. Payne had me canned in the last round of cuts. But, I once had his daughter. Oh what memories.

2nyy- Spot on! Chevron "awards" are the equivalent of kids' soccer participation trophies, "most improved player!" The C+ managers filled their Outlook calendars with recurring bullshit meetings to look important to their next layer of middle managers. It is good material for a version of Office Spaces about the crumbling Chevron empire. Let's write the lines for the comedy here.

The morbidly obese manager who smells from her fat folds, who hires and promotes relatives. The slobs who used to roam the cafe areas in 1400 for left overs, every day for nearly 10 years. No more food today.

Payne, yes his daughter survived the ROMs, but she really is good looking and actually smarter than average.

Ten year RE hired on with Chevron straight out of school. Supposedly, the early-mid career folks were the future of the company after the big crew change. What a joke!

Hate to break it to you sunshine, but that half million in Chevron training won't mean squat to any other employer. You will be starting from scratch.

2.5 years with Chevron and I was cut. Over a half a million in training put into me only to be given my walking papers. Oh well, I will be very valuable to someone else. Thank you Chevron for the education haha.

You are 100% correct with the meetingsame and spreadsheets. I have never with a company that was so obsessed with processes, procedures and spreadsheets. It was a status symbol at Chevron to be involved in as many meetings as possible because your presence was deemed so important, even if that meant that almost no real work got done. How are all of those stupid chevron awards helping you now? No other company gives a damn about those.

Almost 9 years and axed. Horizons grad and all that other BS. It's all crap and it doesn't develop any employee whatsoever. Just monthly spreadsheets with "x" in the boxes. I worked my assoff for Chevron. Kept a bunch of people who spent Thursday and Friday streaming The Masters on their computer.

Quite a few horizons engineers in SJV cut. The sweet spot seemed to be those in H2 (so 3-5 years experience) while many with <2 years of experience were kept. Not sure how they could justify that...

I had 23 years in 2003 and was sh--canned. My dummmasss came back to the company in 2007. Happened to survive this one but as many folks have said and all of you shold know... this is a cyclic industry , whether with cvx or an independent or a service company there are absolutely no guarantees. There is a big world out there and it does not include chevron!!

It's extremely hard to find a job when ones life was only in one career. Kids in College to boot. Hit the upturn in the next two years to pay debt and to retire. A 40 you completions engineer has no chance

3 year horizons reservoir engineer from Houston MCBU group was let go. Midland engineers were given preference because that is where the managers making the decisions are located.

Right. The mid and late career guys were the main target.

I am 50 years old and worked 27 years as a production engineers. When the oil price was high, the boss was whipping and said "more work, more oil, more profit". This translated into more overtime in the office and oilfield.

When oil price is down, the management want higher oil production volume to make up for the lower revenue. This also translate into more time away from the family.

Now that I finally get the "left Standing" paper, I had to console myself that it is time to go to get out of this mad business.

Where else would a production engineer find a decent paying job to support 2 kids in college, paying mortgage, and the utilities bills for the next 1 or 2 years?

To all those let go - please remember the treatment you have gone through when oil comes back up - especially petrotechs/high skilled people. Chevron could not get people in certain BUs at oils height and when that time comes again, make sure you recall what you went through.
