They may be offering voluntary as well as walking people out. They should give same opportunities to all with offering voluntary package to ALL, but that's UOP. Additionally they may do these lay-offs and then start re-hiring to get reps to be trained in new ways at cheaper wages .... to cleanse the old, toxic morale/environment that has been created and to bring in new people at lower salaries with no experience in the old ways and with new, fresh outlook and no traumatic memories of UOP's past behaviors. Cutting employee numbers and higher salaries. Have to bring all the numbers down so golden parachutes and buy-out can be financed. They just reported earnings..estimated a loss of 10 cents per share that was actually a loss of 56 cents per share for a 60 Million loss. OMG. Desperate times call for desperate measures. If you are laid off and marked as eligible for re-hire? Can you be re-hired at a lower wage? Are they looking to move people from one job in the company to another job in the company versus terminating if they have the skills? Probably not because the goal is not to keep anyone employed...but to reduce numbers and get NEW people at lower wages that are not tainted by their past experiences with UOP. Hitting the REFRESH button.

Yes layoffs happened but please be respectful of those that are still trying to help our students. We may not agree with upper management but we do want to continue to support our students. My heart goes out to the employees let go as well as the ones trying to stay behind and pick up the pieces.

This is not lie. Some departments were given a choice of voluntary. In operations people can choose voluntary and if not enough people do this random decisions will be made. Some people come on here and bash the company. I understand people have their reasons. Some individuals even if they do not care for the company, they still is a job with good health insurance and pay to support a family or just theirself. This will be tough for those that get let go.

For the people that just want to make rude comments about people loosing their job, understand you could be in this situation one day.

Yes, I was laid off this morning. They called me at home and would not give me a reason or the numbers. They said it was a company wide reduction in the workforce.

Layoffs are real. Notification date will be 4/28 with last day being either 4/28 or 6/24 depending on department

It will happen again in 3 months for enrollment . Not to mention the sale has hit a major snag due to the class action law suit filed against Uop. Still many cuts to be made and money to be saved. Ragu has two more layoffs planned and the next will be in 3 months. This should not be a surprise , just expect every year at least two layoffs will occur until the numbers are low enough to sustain.

Those spreading NO Layoffs are personnel hired by Apollo Ed to provide a good image on social media. In the past it was called propaganda.

Call BS all you want, we watched people just file out of Riverpoint with boxes in hand. They aren't on Elwood anymore so it was all at Riverpoint.

No voluntary email went out, not like the last big layoff where it was an application process. That was your time to get out with a sweet deal. This time around it was not an option and who knows what type of severance package if any people were given.

Yes, sadly layoffs hit the ACC from phone reps to managers to some senior managers. Finance dept, StAS, TAC and operations. It is really sad. Not sure if any more will come down the line as of now. It is really sad for employees.
