I am in west Houston. I want to know if any of the cut people on Thursday want to meet up at a central location just to talk, vent, pass ideas around or whatever. It will be good to know you are not alone and the people you meet here might end up being your best contacts. It is a lot better than thinking about all of your years of work being flushed down the toilet because of a bad market with bad management. Do not get depressed. I hope to get lots of good replys. Toss out some places that would be good to meet at.

How about meeting at Treasures on Westheimer? All Chevron women who are laid off should also come along. Some of you may want to leave your resume with Treasures management. About 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon on Friday?
Good idea. We can at least have a good laugh. Networking now will not lead to a position....oil patch is toast at the moment. But make no mistake that is how we will get a job when markets turn. I believe I am not going to get fired. You know your situation sucks when you pray to be let go.
Thanks for the reply zbo. I guess I posted this too early. The cuts will be Thursday, so those people do not yet know. I may have to repost this. I am surprised there has only been one reply, but there are very many people who do not know about this site.
How about meeting at Bakers Street Pub at La Centerra (Cinco Ranch), Katy, TX. But not on Thursday. That day after getting canned, will be a day and night for crying and lamenting at home with the wife and kids. Let's all get together the next day, Friday, after the crack of noon.
