Age discrimination? How many women vs. men ratio let go? Sex discrimination? Just wondering.

Of course you did. Although this thread is talking about senior employees, this company is very smart and eliminated employees from all demographics including age, race, sex and tenure at the company. They made sure there was an even mix to avoid any lawsuits. If they got rid of some excellent employees in the mix, that is just collateral damage.
I lost someone in their mid-twenties
I was in mid fifties and was part of the very first layoffs in IT. Initially I was discouraged about finding a decent job, but after a year I successfully landed a great job with a great organization. Keep your head up and remain positive, your skills will fit a good company/opportunity - just be patient. Honesty looking back, it all worked for the best, especially considering Follett's continue decline and financial difficulties.
Let go in 2015 after 26 years with the company, and I was 53. Was acting as store manager and textbook manager.
Age discrimination its tough to prove but that is what it is. Older folks cost the company too much money, so they weed them out. Hey we have ethics and loyalty and work above and beyond, something lost in the new generation.
2013 mid's 50's female over 15 yrs with Follett with good reviews, work on weekends, vacations whenever needed. I had to fight to get anything. I landed on my feet though. Working at a MUCH better company who treats their employees well. It took a little while though.
after 25 years (just 50 years old), chased out, no package. I know of two others like me (this was done in 2013)
Late fifties, female. I'll never find a job paying what I made. No one wants someone like me for entry level or any level.
I was let go in 2012 at 52, believe me its not easy. no one wants to hire older folks. Thank you follett my kids thank you and your hench men too.
Two oldest let go at our location
