Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Nader: Master if tunnel vision

Well you got what you wanted and now people have to start their lives all over again if that's even possible.

Think about others and not what's in it for you. This was not restructuring, this was a slaughter. I worked for Follett long before you came and now how do I begin again after all these years? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Blaming the sins of today on poor decisions from the past is a cowards way out. If that claim is true, the executive knows that's how they're going to "right the ship" when they come on board. If that's true they need to disclose their intention. This company has so many years of poor leadership and horrible decisions that firing a few more long time non-executive employees won't change anything.

fact is, too, that anyone who stays without updating their skills, developing a professional network and beginning a job search is foolish. Their intentions may be good, but this dung heap of a company has shown itself for what it is. It has earned the reputation of being ruthless to its employees. It is a BAD place to work.

Nader lost me when he told customers that Follett had the happiest employees in the industry. Not exactly an honest statement.

Very sorry about what you and so many others are going through.

I am one who was not cut but i was in your position in the past and it sucks.

I am taking a wait and see approach with Nader.

Much of what happened in the last month is the result of years of bad decisions and bad investments and inaction in some areas.

Let's see if Nader can lead it to a better place or if he just slashes and off shores critical functions to make the bottom line look artificially better for a couple years like mary did.
