I could not agree with you more. Nepotism lives on. Or just rub one out for your boss and you can work for him!

They lie about separation. They will doctor paperwork to make it look like you were on your way to termination when you abandoned your job. These are first class lying pieces of feces. At least that's how they've treated long term employees.
The separation agreement states that the company will not protest any claim for unemployment compensation, but elegibility will be determined by the governing state.
In Indiana if you are given a lay off you are entitled to unemployment compensation. If you left or accepted a comp package you are considered as voluntarily leaving a job thus no unemployment. Just saying watch what you choose to do. I don't know how other state are but Indiana stinks as far as unemployment comp. takes about 6 weeks of hassle to get a little $$.
This is how you payback your Employees who sacrifice their weekends, evenings and sometimes week of not putting our kids to bed. We at the front lines while you're home relaxing and spending time with your families. . Thank you Follett for denying us even a few weeks of unemployment while we get back on feet.
They did it to me. I fought back and won. They lied through their teeth!
Don't think because you were laid off you've earned anything. They may even deny they've laid you off and accuse you of abandoning your position. I've seen it happen before. If you've been there for more than 20 years, expect a protracted fight to squeeze a nickle out of these A holes.
