Netflix and Hulu to face competion from AT&T

This will be another flop. AT&T is trying to do what ever it can to attract the 13 - 30 year old to their service.

Show me the money!, Adding Insult To Injury AT&T Jacks-Up Smartphone Upgrade Fee To Match Verizon At $20, Does it really cost $15 or $20 for the dude in a blue shirt standing behind the counter to punch a few keys and click the mouse a couple of times en route to activating your overpriced handset? It doesn't matter, because like a honey badger, wireless carriers don't give a flip.

The only explanation, " they have not idea what SDN, actually is, I would not be surprised",

Well, the SDN stuff would be a better bet if Amazon and Google hadn't beat them to this five years ago. It'd also help if it were a more trustworthy company - do you really want to use the cloud services of a company that's shown it has no problem letting the federal government snoop on customers en mass? I wouldn't. It'll work out OK, I'm sure, but probably won't be the moneymaker they think it will be.

Smells like a flop. Probably should have just purchased Hulu when it was on sale a couple of years ago.

It is abundantly clear that AT&T really has no direction, except for its vague SDN future that's being touted.

This will be another flop and will cost AT&T more than just a few million dollars, most likely in 100s of million. If they wanted to get into streaming video, why not just purchase Netflix or Hulu which will be much cheaper than directtv fiasco.

This will be another example of them setting a few million dollars!on fire. They started pushing something like this on Uverse a few years ago, and it was awful - they may still actually offer it, I don't know. The article linked to here says they're got stuff like "saved by the Bell"? It's had to imagine they are this clueless.

After the way this company treats their employees, I really hope customers find out what kind of crappy company AT&T is and AT&T goes bankrupt. I would never recommend for anyone to work for AT&T or to purchase their products. I really hope all the great technical people that I met at this company move on to a better future. I think it is enough to be treated like crap by clueless managers.

Contractors could care less about AT&T's success or failure. AT&T is surplussing all their dedicated knowledgeable employees who really care about the customer. AT&T deserves what it gets in the end which will be total failure. I'm just standing back watching the ship sink.

Because they are fully aware NO ONE has anything good to say about the service they provide, let's not even mention their billing.

Can you imagine what would happen if the customers know how the staff is being treated!!!!!!!!

I do not understand how AT&T's backed SVOD, fullscreen, is going to compete against Netflix, Hulu and the like. Aren't fullscreen's content already available on YouTube for Free. With all the streaming options available, why would people spend $5/ a month for this crap.

I would not signed up, billing is always a mess, AT&T's reputation for that is well documented, Slashdot reports, and Ars Technica picks up on, a newly added clause in AT&Ts terms of service. The clause seems to say that AT&T reserves the right to terminate subscribers (that'd be me, and could even be you), if you criticize them too much.
