Thread regarding Follett layoffs

How many people

lost their jobs or bonus or profit sharing in order to pay for the Follett family's stock dividends and to buy these companies? How honest is it to tell employees that we didn't make enough to justify a raise or profit sharing or bonus when you had money to buy other companies? Without those purchases, what would have the balance sheet looked like? Would some of those employees still have jobs? Would there have been raises?

I think a lot of the people commenting on here are not working for Follett nor have they ever. People will believe all sorts of nonsense. They love the drama.

To be fair, Aspen was profitable until Foollitt purchased the company. Not knowing how to run a software company, not understanding the product and the company they purchased, nor knowing the market just led to disaster. It's the third software company acquisition they have blown. They just don't know how to do high tech and won't hire executives who have been successful in the industry.

Yes, they live on the dividends that is why they can't be cut.

Wonder what the average family dividend is? Are these people living off their dividends? Because great, great, great grandad started the company they expect to not work and destroy the lives of people that worked their a**es off for them? Talk about entitlement. No wonder Bernie is doing so well.

I think your all just jealous because I drive a mercedez and light my cigars with hundred dollar bills while you roll up in a used kia.

The fuss is the destruction of employee morale and engagement. Employees don't care. Life could probably be better for you. You won't get a bonus and won't get an increase this year and likely next. The remaining employees are overworked so it will be more stressful and longer hours. With no strategy to move forward, there is little hope for things improving. Unless things improve there will be more RIF's.

Funny how you used the past tense "worked with great people".

I dont know what all the fuss is about. I have been here over 30years, worked with great people, got paid a nice salary and on top of that just got a dividend check.

Life couldnt be better here.

Follett sounds like a crappy place to work or make a career there. Run away people. I will not work for this scum of a company!

They don't care about the long term health of the company, the only focus is to pay for the Follett family's stock dividends.

very short sighted. They are running their people into the ground. Not the way to run a business if you care about the long term health of the company.

How much money have we lost from other purchases? How much did Aspen lose last year?
