Someone thought that the sale of three states to Frontier would reduce costs by 20%. Now they are finding out it didn't and have to come up with the rest of the reductions.

Why do you think for a moment that this was a 'miscalculation'?
It was part of the plan!
"....Someone thought...."
Someones need fired. More than one. Mabee some.
How did Shamwow get lucky with Vodaphone? They are laughing all the way to the bank after taking $65 billion. Meanwhile, Lowell and his dumbass crew run $113 billion in debt. More than ANY other company in the world. They are just running it into the ground and will bail out with their golden parachutes in tow. And then you will hear the taxpayers have to bail VZ out because its "too big to fail". What a bunch of crap!
My understanding is that the west was 40% of revenues for wireline and that reductions will take place after 4/1. The fios take rate is alot higher in the west, which would account for a higher margin.
got any of that proof?
What a stupid topic. This makes no sense. It has been communicated all along that the West properties were more profitable than the East and reductions would have to be made to be margin neutral.
Shamwow cant find his asswith both hands. He got lucky on Vodafone but screws up every other thing he has touched. It should be interesting to see how this plays out. Maybe the reductions will have to be 30%. This time they should start with him.
Yet another Verizon leadership miscalculation.....Seriously, how many has there been? Go Union and Strike these idiots, bury them now!
I volunteered. Hopefully the union strikes after the next round of cuts and really fooks them up.
