All their plans seem focused on paying out dividends right now. I have heard nothing that addresses the company's long term health. Everything I have seen makes it harder to provide value for our customers.

Exactly, cuts is not sales growth or investing in business for future growth, but ability to pay dividends.
And you are surprised?? Cuts do not equal sales growth.
