Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If your 401k goes up 10%, but there is no more middle class in this country, have we won or have we lost?

I smell a lot of company shills on this board trying to pull the divide and conquer routine. Wouldn't be surprised if ALEC is on the case. Maybe the Boston Consulting Group too? The goal is to get the craft and lower management to redirect their legitimate anger towards each other, instead of focusing it on the people making seven and eight figure compensations while laying off 6000-8000 good people and trying to take benefits away from others. This is not a Republican vs Dem issue, or a lower management vs craft issue - this is a "Do we want to continue to have a middle class in this country?" issue.

I find it strange they are trying to squeez out the middle class, but without the middle class, who is going to buy all the crap shipped over from China? Who is going to pay for Verizon's overly expensive wireless service? Everyone will be in the poor house and the big corporations living off the backs of Americans will be SOL...

I feel sadness and despair for my kids, and their future. That's something Lowell and the Verizon executives don't feel. They don't see lives...they see selfish Greed.
